Havanese are great dogs for allergy sufferers. Havanese may not eat unless they have company; some will pick up a big mouthful of food and carry it to another room to be with their owner, drop it on the floor, and eat it one piece at a time. Havanese were used as circus performers in 19th century Europe. Many Cuban aristocrats were forced to leave their Havanese when they fled to America during the Cuban Revolution.
