Rescue Me ID: 15-05-20-00005Snickerdoodle (female)

Havanese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

About: This little girl was rescued off the streets and the owners could not be located and she was NOT microchiped. It was apparent that she had puppies not long before we rescued her and she was almost hit by some cars. She has now been spayed. She will need some potty training lessons. She can walk on a leash. She is kennel trained and will sleep all night long happily in her kennel or in bed with you. So far she has been tested with 9 dogs and got along with 1 female and 3 of the males. She is good with dogs that have been well socialized and she prefers male dogs. She has been tested with children and LOVES them! She has been ... (Read More)tested with strangers and she's very happy to greet them and even go with them; this girl is not shy. She has been tested with cats, birds, and rabbits. She is not good with them as they are just too much fun to chase lol. She is a very happy dog that loves a good romp in the back yard. We also discovered she loves to play ball! We would like to see her go to a home that has children for her to play with. Children over the age of 6 would be ideal. We are very pleased with her personality around people. She is going to make someone very happy!!! (Less)

Havanese Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Mugsy was balding, and infested with fat ticks when he was rescued. He was eating trash on the ground when a Detective noticed the hairless dog standing on the street. She realized the disheveled dog was friendly. She imagined that he was once a loved fluffy puppy. She scooped him up and took him to a Vet where they shaved him and medically treated him. Look at him now! He has a long tongue and he is the happiest dog around. He loves food more than toys. He is low maintenance and likes to play with dogs. PLEASE REFER TO THE FAQ ON OUR WEB SITE FOR DETAILED ADOPTION INFORMATION. NOTE: We do NOT adopt out dogs to homes outside of a 5 ... (Read More)hour radius from Los Angeles. (Less)

Havanese    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sweet Ian did not have a good home his first 10 months. They obviously never brushed him, then when he got matted they cut chunks out of his gorgeous coat. You can't see it in this picture, but on his back and hind quarters he is clipped. We had him groomed and his coat is short now but he has long ears and his mustache. The groomer told us she thought he was Lowchen rather than a Havanese. You can see the black tipping and his coat is soft as cotton. He is just under a year old and gets along with his new friends.

Barstow Animal Shelter, Californiahttp://barstowhumanesociety.net/location.html This beautiful little girl came into the shelter. Her owner was going into a battered women's shelter and couldn't take her. This pup was dealt a bad hand at life and that really sucks for a small defenseless girl. If her owner was being abused-just imagine what happened to her? What did she witness? She's terrified and nippy and putting her down is not an option. Can anyone find it in their hearts to foster her and work with her and most of all LOVE her. She needs to know that all humans don't abuse. Please help. Please

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-16-00275  (female)

Havanese Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Sassy was born January 6, 2015. Sassy and her mom Goldie came to their foster family when Sassy was two weeks old. She began to develop and grow and now at 13 weeks old, she weighs approximately five pounds. She has a very unique coloring that will eventually change. As for now, she is brown, tan & black with touches of white. Her ears are floppy black and her nose is black along with her eyebrows which make her very expressive and adorable. She has a long black tail and always has her tail up. She is a very happy and well adjusted puppy despite that her eyes did not develop and she is blind. The whites of her eyes show but she does ... (Read More)not have vision. That doesn't stop Sassy Pants (as her foster family calls her). Her name suits her perfectly. She is sassy, but with a gentle spirit who loves to give kisses, plays with her Mom and loves toys & bones to chew on. She is hardly afraid of anything. She gets around great in her foster home and only bumps into a wall or object if something is out of place. She loves her back yard hopping like a bunny carefree in the sun and grass. She maneuvers the outdoor steps beautifully up into the house. Like many puppies she is hesitant to go down the steps, but pick her up and put her outside and away she goes. Sassy is a hearty eater. She loves everything from eggs, to vegetables & fruits, to plain yogurt, cottage cheese, and whatever else is served. Chicken and turkey are favorites. Sassy has received all of her puppy shots. She is healthy, strong and her teeth & nails are sharp as all puppies are. Sassy will eventually need to be spayed, micro chipped and rabies vaccine when she comes of age. Sassy will need continued guidance with potty training (she goes outside when taken out) but has not mastered a pee pad in the house. She will thrive with another companion dog. Though it would be amazing if she and her mom Goldie could stay together as Goldie directs and guides Sassy from her sense of smell and sound, they can be adopted separately. Sassy can be vocal when playing hard and is prone to jumping and chewing as all healthy, fun puppies do. She is becoming a good listener. Please fill out an application at www.yorkierescueofamerica.org if you would like more information regarding Sassy. We are a volunteer run rescue, so please be patient with us. Havanese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Goldie is a healthy, solid, 13 lb, blonde Yorkie mix who we rescued from a high kill city shelter just days after she gave birth to her female puppy Sassy. Goldie wants to be a lap dog and follows her foster mom into every room she goes. She loves to give kisses and her big brown eyes will melt your heart. She was a wonderful mother that has taken care of and guided Sassy since the beginning. Goldie is very versatile. She loves to go on walks, fetch and play with her toys or just lay by your side. She loves to ride in the car too. Now that Sassy is weaned, Goldie has been spayed and had a dental done. Both Goldie and Sassy are ... (Read More)excellent watch dogs and do bark when they hear someone near the door. They would thrive in a home that has a fenced or gated yard where they can run and play in a somewhat quiet neighborhood. Goldie is great with children, and both men & women. She is a very loyal dog and will win your heart. Please open your heart and home to this dynamic duo. Though we would love if they can stay together, they can be adopted separately. Please fill out an application at www.yorkierescueofamerica.org if you would like more information regarding Sassy. We are a volunteer run rescue, so please be patient with us.     Rudy is a very special. He is from a negligent backyard breeder and is one of the only survivors of him 7 siblings he and his sister made it. He was faced with a few difficulties in just his young age. He has survived parvo along with a horrid infestation of round worm. He has since been treated and is 2 months free of the virus. The upside he will never catch it again nor is he contagious. Even through all this he still shines like the little star he is. He loves to pay and be around people. He is about 7-8 months old and around 10 pounds. He has been bloomed. Due to his hair being matted ad it is growing back in beautifully. He has ... (Read More)been fixed vaccinated and microchipped.
